Logic Hosts Tech Insight Dinner: “AI Applied”
Exploring the Future of AI in Business
Recently, Logic Solutions held an exclusive event, “AI Applied,” at Mediterrano restaurant in Ann Arbor, uniting business leaders, industry experts, and innovators to discuss the transformative potential of artificial intelligence across various sectors.
The evening was a resounding success, featuring engaging discussions and valuable networking opportunities. Attendees experienced cutting-edge AI applications designed to enhance productivity, streamline decision-making, and address business challenges. It was a thought-provoking night, showcasing how AI can empower organizations to thrive in today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape.

Insight from the Speakers
A highlight of the evening was hearing from leading experts on real-world AI applications:
- Andy Hsiao, Engineering Manager at Logic, showcased Avatar technology from Simli, a strategic partner. The demonstration was impressive, with the Avatar engaging in a conversational manner and even sharing insights about U of M football! Notably, Simli has achieved a latency of under 300 ms, making interactions feel remarkably human. Experience it yourself at simli.com/demo.
- Richard Yen, Senior Vice President of Strategic Solutions & Global Automotive Business at Altair, discussed the role of generative AI in engineering. He emphasized its potential to enhance simulation sophistication and reduce design timelines. While he warned of an impending bubble in AI interest, he encouraged perseverance, highlighting that those who endure will reap substantial long-term benefits—a perspective recently validated by Altair’s announcement of its acquisition by Siemens.
- Bill Michels, Chief Commercial Officer of LavenirAI, illustrated the use of AI in negotiation training. He demonstrated how AI-driven simulations with avatars can help professionals refine their procurement skills in a safe, controlled environment. The demo highlighted the specificity and nuance that the LavenirAI avatar provided, convincingly proving that AI can empower humans to negotiate more effectively.

Looking Forward
The success of “AI Applied” underscores the keen interest businesses have in understanding AI’s future impact. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to a memorable evening!

Jimmy on the Road
Recently Jimmy Hsiao, our Founder/CEO, was out on the speaker circuit. He presented three keynote addresses recently, two in Taiwan and one in Singapore. The conferences included Airport Association Conference and an Occupation Safety Conference in Taiwan and the CHUBB Insurance conference in Singapore.

In the talk Jimmy discussed how AI can be applied to EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) and ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) compliance concerns.
EHS is a multidisciplinary field that focuses on protecting the environment and human health. Its programs aim to reduce or eliminate risks associated with:
- Exposure to hazardous materials
- Work-related injuries
- Environmental accidents
EHS relates to government requirements that must be complied with or the firm will be fined.
ESG is shorthand for an investing principle that prioritizes environmental issues, social issues, and corporate governance. ESG is a voluntary effort to position a company in a favorable light to environment and safety-conscious investors.
To achieve the requirements and goals of EHS and ESG requires very specific attention to detail that must be managed daily.
Prior to software advances, tracking these concerns was all done manually. With the advent of smart software, a digital transformation can be accomplished. Logic’s wholly owned subsidiary, Quantum Compliance, has developed an integrated suite of software solutions to do just that.
The title of the talk is “Digital Transformation of EHS and ESG: Where We’ve Been, Where we Are, and Where We’re Going.” The content focused on how companies can go from a manual approach to compliance through a digital transformation, and then be empowered by AI. All of this with the goal of more efficiently complying with EHS and now ESG requirements.
Of specific interest were the following case studies.
The first illustrated how Logic/Quantum has developed the capability to digitize unstructured data from paper or PDF sources and then place them into a database incorporating specific industry-based and client proprietary knowledge, where the information can be presented as a structured document and the data used in many applications.
The second case study has to do with creating a ChatBot that can intelligently answer EHS and now ESG compliance questions, speeding the investigation results for clients. Government-generated Compliance documents are hundreds of pages long with many specific details and “if, thens.” Now accurate answers can be accessed in seconds that once took minutes and sometimes hours to wade through the possibilities.
The third has to do with using AIOT cameras to help alert staff in real time if there are unsafe working conditions. With this data, clients can intervene to correct the situation and prioritize what needs to be addressed in the future to ensure a safe environment and behavior by teams.
Audience interest was high at each outing and resulted in follow up meetings with firms to consider solutions in all aspects of EHS and ESG compliance. To learn more, contact Jimmy at jimmy@logicsolutions.com
